Roulette

What player is not dreaming of making their first big cash-out by playing a round of Roulette? It sounds very easy and you have probably seen it happen countless times in one of the many Hollywood Blockbusters, such as Casino (1995), various James Bond movies and the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy. But how do you play and is it possible to make safe long-term profits by playing a Roulette?Roulette

Let us take a quick look at the rules.

Roulette – the rules

Many believe that you can simply put your bet on the table at roulette, stare at the cauldron and hope for luck. That may partly be true if you visit a casino at your friends Bachelor / Bachelorette party, but you have a lot more success and fun if you know all about this game. When a player knows what he is doing, playing Roulette is just a lot more fun and the uncertainty disappears.

The rules in Roulette are simple and it is a pure game of chance. You have no control over which number will come up.

In Roulette, the Croupier throws a small ball into a bowl with a spinning disk. This disk is divided into 37 fields: The numbers 1-36 are – apparently – randomly distributed, but the colors red and black always alternate. In addition, there is the number 0, that is green. The same numbers can be found on the table, called Tableau, which is divided and ordered into three columns. The “0” is placed at the head of the Tableau, on the sides are the so-called easy chances: red / black, high / low and even / odd. Before the Croupier starts the game by throwing ball into the bowl, you can place your bet for the round. You can place your chips – with various values – on the simple chances or directly on the numbers to place your bet. Whatever number the ball lands in, is the winning number. The players then receive their winnings after each round or, in the event of a lost bet, the stake is also lost.
Sounds very easy, doesn’t it? But in roulette, you have numerous betting options and just as many winning opportunities.

Single and multiple chances

Single chance
Red and black are called easy chances. Likewise, low and high, where you bet on the numbers 1-18 or 19-36. The same goes for playing even or odd numbers. The chances of winning are nearly 50/50, since the ball can land on the “0”. If the “0” comes up, your stake is not lost, but you haven’t won anything either. If you bet on the right outcome, your stake is doubled.

Dozen
You can bet on a dozen too. That would be the numbers 1 to 12, 13 to 24 or 25 to 36. In case of a successful bet, your stakes will triple. For example, when you place 10€ on 7 and the 7 comes up, you’ll get 30€ back.

Column bet

A column bet is where you bet on a column of 12 numbers on the Tableau. The chips are placed on the special square at the end of one of the columns / twelve numbers. The win ratio here is also 2:1, so if you bet 10€, you have getting 30€ payed out.

Longer odds

Line bet:
5:1 chance, place your stake at the intersection of two rows of three numbers to bet on those 2 rows.

Corner bet:
8:1 chance, the stakes are placed at the intersection of a square of 4 numbers.

Street bet:
11:1 chance, where you bet on a row of three numbers.

En plein:
En Plein is maybe the best-known bet among beginners. It means that you are specifically betting on a number between 0 and 36. If you win, you will receive 35 times your stake.

Roulette systems

If you have dealt a little with Roulette tactics and strategies beforehand, you are sure to come across a variety of Roulette systems. Firstly, it is by no means illegal to use a strategy when playing at the Roulette table, not in a local- nor in an online casino. You are free to use any Roulette system or strategy you can think of. There are no rules for how you choose to play or how you bet your money.

That is why many at the Roulette tables choose to play according to a Roulette system. Whichever strategy you choose, the most important thing is that you stick to the same strategy or system throughout the game, no matter what. But keep in mind, no matter what game you are playing, you can of course lose. If you are panicking and dropping the system you are playing, then of course they do not work as intended and you will lose the benefits associated with it.

However, you choose to play, never bet more than you can effort to lose.
We wish you best of luck and good fun at your next Roulette table.
